A STUDY TO ASSESS THE INCIDENCE OF PRE - MENSTRUAL SYNDROME (PMS) AND PRACTICE DURING MENSTRUATION AMONG ADOLESCENT GIRLS AT SELECTED INSTITUTION, SALEM

Descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The investigator selected 156 samples through nonprobabilityconvenient sampling technique . tool has three parts Section- A consists of Semi structuredinterview schedule to assess demographic variables. B check list Pre MenstrualSyndrome among adolescent girls. Section –C included Rating scale practice during menstruationamong results present study reveals that majority 98(73%) girlsexperience irritability,headache 68(51%), anxiety41(30%), tension 83(62%), depression 51(38%), anger85(63%), breast tenderness/Pain 49(36%),Impaired work activities 8(51%),and only 35(26%) girlshave confusion as Menstrual Symptoms before their menstruation 156(100%) them were havingadequate practices menstruation. There no significant association found between level practiceduring with variables such age, and age at menarche, duration ofmenstruation, menstrual cycle, type flow , experience Syndrome, Dysmenorrhoeaduring
